Current apple stock South Tyrol:

'Total inventory is below last year's level'

According to surveys by Assomela and the Chamber of Commerce, a total of 656,063 tons of tableware was stored in the cooperatives in South Tyrol as of 1 March.

In 2019, 756,805 tons were in stock on the same date, in 2018 it was 415,060 tons. Around half of the stocks in storage are apples of the Golden Delicious variety (364,338 tonnes), followed in order of quantity by the varieties Red Delicious (57,868 tonnes), Fuji (36,237 tonnes) and Gala (34,295 tonnes).

A comparison with last year shows that the stocks of most varieties are lower this year than last year at the same time. The only exception is the Gala variety, of which there are slightly more apples in stock this year than in March 2019.
