Adercarta Spa attended Fruit Logistica for the first time to present "Pura Natura", the innovative fresh produce shopper that is resistant to humidity, recyclable, compostable and see-through. It is produced in Italy with Italian raw material and it already won the 2018 Packaging Oscar in the Over All category.
"It is an excellent alternative not only to plastic, but also to bioplastic so as to safeguard the environment and preserve food. By using a simple and natural material such as paper (vegetable fiber and water), Pura Natura enables fruits and vegetables to breathe, avoiding condensation and mold problems," explains Luca Zurleni, sales manager for Adercarta.
Adercarta has always focused on the total recycling of paper mono-materials so as to ensure the production of safe entirely-compostable packaging that can be recycled, therefore reducing the impact on the environment. "Considering the new regulations that eliminated plastic bags for loose produce, we developed a new solution that combines the needs of consumers and retailers, providing a better-performing technical solution while safeguarding the environment."

See-through paper bags: an ethical choice
"The fact that the paper is see-through is what makes it unique design-wise and meets distribution expectations, as it enables consumers and cashiers to verify the content. What is more, bags are exceptionally light and resistant to humidity and weight (up to 2 kg)."
What is more, the graphic of Pura Natura bags can be personalized using eco-friendly water ink. They can be recycled as paper and, if dirty, it can be disposed of with organic waste.
Pura Natura thus enables:
- economic benefits as it contains costs for consumers;
- environmental benefits as it favors recycling and cooperates with FSC to thicken wood forests;
- ethical benefits as it uses natural and sustainable raw material (cellulose deriving directly from selected plants) and reduces the quantity of vegetable products used to make bioplastic shoppers such as corn or potatoes.
Useful even inside supermarkets
Pura Natura bags are available in a convenient 500 or 1000-piece dispenser, loose or tied with a vegetable string. Specific cardboard stands complete the product range available to retail stores.

Food safety
Pura Natura is a range of special calendered semi-transparent pure cellulose paper certified for Food Contact. Bags meet the strictest food and HACCP regulations and are made of low-thickness paper made entirely of long virgin fibers that are FSC certified. In addition, the paper undergoes a humid-resistant treatment (<0,4%) with epichlorydrin resin .
