The brand adds value, but only if the consumer can identify it and distinguish the product. According to this vision, the Ronca Gennaro farm has created "Cuore di Fragola" (Strawberry Heart) in recognition of its high quality.
"We specialize in strawberries grown in greenhouses - said Gennaro Ronca - and we decided to distinguish our product through an identifiable quality label. Cuore di Fragola represents the extra category of Piana del Sele and differs significantly as a top range product for taste, colour and aroma. We produce strawberries in protected cultivation, by integrating the defence systems so as to reduce residues. For instance, we make extensive use of beneficial insects."

In addition to strawberries, the company also produces nectarines, apricots, kohlrabi, rocket, watermelons and mini watermelons. Regarding strawberries, the main varieties grown are Melissa, Fortuna, Marisol, Sabrina, just to name a few. The calendar is very long and Ronca is able to supply strawberries from November to June, also thanks to the medium-late variety Amiga, the only one of its kind.
"Compared to the market trend - added Ronca - prices are in the standard range at the moment. Because of the weather there is a general advance, but the quality is really high, benefiting both taste and aroma."
