Since 1.1. 2020 the Nuremberg wholesale market has had a new company: MCR Markthalle GmbH. At the helm of the new company is Rahime Berisa, a young and ambitious trader. As the daughter of a wholesaler, she already knows her way around this male world. With this experience and expertise, she now wants to address a broad clientele in the regional area.
Initially, the 29-year-old set herself the goal of exploring market gaps and growth opportunities at the Nuremberg wholesale market. Berisa knows that the competition at the trading centre on Leyher Straße is quite fierce. "At present we supply a broadly diversified clientele of restaurateurs and specialist retailers, to a large extent also Arab, Turkish and Russian bulk buyers. Every day we welcome our customers at the wholesale market stand, but some are also supplied.

Direct imports from all major growing countries
The range of products is constantly being adapted to customer requirements. "At present, we have the whole range of Turkish vegetable specialities, such as pointed peppers, courgettes, aubergines, tomatoes and cucumbers in our range. However, I am also keen to soon be able to purchase goods from other important European growing countries, whether Spain, Italy or the Netherlands. Possibly via direct imports."

How the company will develop further is difficult to predict at present. "We are open to new and surprising things," the trader finally says.
