The producers’ organization Altamura launches its new video

Getting excited in agriculture is as important as selling

"Everything we are today we owe to our roots, to our family, to our land. Wherever we go we always try to bring our story with us, because only through its sharing we manage to make people understand what is behind our work. Sometimes, however, it may happen that words are not enough, so this year we decided to entrust this storytelling to the images."

With this message and a video (see below), the Altamura family and the company staff welcomed visitors at Fruit Logistica. "Welcome to our home, welcome to the large family of Altamura suppliers!" Making the video took 6 months and it was directed by the filmmaker Marius Mele. The voice over is from the actor David Callahan.

"We have focused everything on emotion - says Alfonso Altamura, president of the producers’ organization from Pontecagnano Faiano (Salerno) - We often forget how important our roots are, who we are and where we come from. Especially when things are not going so well: 2019, in fact, in some months, has seen some problems in production for our baby leaves. But we didn't get down and completed our goals and projects."

"Currently, the market mood seems positive. This is also confirmed by Nielsen data, which certifies a growing sector. The demand for baby leaves is increasing in all the main markets; in recent years, Eastern Europe is also growing exponentially - continues Alfonso - In addition to the main varieties, such as rocket, baby spinach and valerian, niche products are also growing: Red Mizuna, Red Rumex, Pea Shoots, Iceberg Baby, Baby Kale and wasabi rocket."

Among the projects carried out by the PO, there is the line of edible flowers dedicated to gastronomy, called Jardin - Fiori in cucina. "We have registered great interest and a lot of requests arrived and continue to arrive from abroad and from Italy - says Giuseppe Altamura, who is in charge of the production of edible flowers, a project which he really cares - There is also great demand for the mix of baby leaf and edible flowers from retail chains."
