The Dutch trucking company, Hartman Expeditie, has entered into a partnership with another transportation company, J.P. Vis. This business is based in Kwintsheul, the Netherlands. At the end of last year, Hartman Expeditie already merged with another industry partner, Brinkman Trans. This recent merger by Hartman's goal is a further growth in size. This should lead to them having greater clout in the air-conditioned transport market aimed at Scandinavia.
Hartman Expeditie and J.P. Vis both have the same core activity - transporting fresh products, especially fruit and vegetables, from the Netherlands to Scandinavia. Both companies are specialized in, in particular, the groupage of air-conditioned products. Here, speed and reliability are of the utmost importance. More efficient trips can be put together. This will ensure even faster deliveries. These can both be achieved by merging the two business' activities. Clients will benefit from the increasingly dense network.
Overnight service
The loads are assembled from across the Netherlands during the day. These are taken to storage centers in Poeldijk and Nieuw Amsterdam. There, the most efficient trips are then compiled. These combinations are driven to Scandinavia in the evenings. In this way, the next morning, fresh fruit and vegetables are in stores all over Scandinavia already. This overnight service can be further expanded. The further densification of the network can achieve this growth.
A logical result of this merger is that the trucks' loading capacities will increase even more. This is true for trips to, as well as from Scandinavia. That benefits sustainability by limiting the number of empty kilometers. The fusion of these companies will lead to them having more of an influence when it comes to purchases.
By merging with J.P. Vis., the trucking group's fleet will grow with 40 tractor units and 65 semi-trailers. This means the group of companies' number of vehicles also increases. Its fleet will total 115 trucks and 260 semi-trailers. The various businesses have 100 permanent active charters too.
J.P. Vis will retain its independence
J.P. Vis will remain an independent company. It will continue with its own distinctive business style. All its employees will be retained, as will its current location and functions. Jan and John Vis are the company's current shareholders and directors. They will stay connected to J.P. Vis. At the same time, ideas about possible future synergy advantages are being considered. These are in the areas of planning and housing.
The three companies in this collaboration are Brinkman Trans Holland, Hartman Expeditie, and J.P. Vis. Together, they benefit the transportation of a significant amount of exported air-conditioned goods. Here, fruit, vegetables, and flowers are included. These goods go from the Netherlands to Scandinavia.
