Fräulein®: Official presentation at the Fruit Logistica

New apple brand is cooperation between six German producer cooperatives

Fräulein® is a new apple generation, coming to the German market. Christened in the fall of 2019, it will be available in food retailers and at the weekly market from October 2020. The brand-new apple brand will be officially presented again at the Fruit Logistica in Berlin.

At Fruit Logistica, the discoverer of the Fräulein®, Gerd Sundermeyer from near Hildesheim, will explain how he gave free rein to nature and then found his favourite apple. On 5 and 6 February, he will be available for discussions in Hall 20 at the stands of Obst vom Bodensee Vertriebsgesellschaft mbH, Obstgroßmarkt Mittelbaden eG, Marktgesellschaft Altes Land and Elbe-Obst Vertriebsgesellschaft mbH, where he will present his Fräulein®.

Cooperation between 6 producer cooperatives
Six organisations grow the new apple brand at Lake Constance, in Saxony, in the Altes Land and in Mittelbaden. This means the Fräulein® is at home throughout Germany. The issue of regionality is a unique selling point of the new apple brand in terms of breeding, cultivation and marketing. Since the launch of the new brand name in autumn 2019, extensive consumer tests have been carried out in Germany with the market research institute inviso. In these tests, Fräulein performed significantly better than its competitors in terms of both marketing concept and product quality. For example, 86 percent of the test persons found Fräulein crisp and 91 percent juicy. 86 percent of the testers found the Fräulein marketing concept to be very high quality.

For 90 percent, Fräulein embodies a natural product. 82 percent liked the regional concept approach. With the official market launch in autumn 2020, the six participating German producer organisations will develop a comprehensive communication concept to make the apple known and promote sales.
