The Spanish agricultural sector continues protesting

Trucks called to gather in protest at Port of Almeria this Wednesday

The Agricultural Organizations ASAJA, COAG and UPA and the marketing ones COEXPHAL and ECOHAL are organizing a protest of trucks and agricultural vehicles on Wednesday, January 29, at the Port of Almeria. It is happening in the framework of the agricultural demonstrations being held throughout this week across the national territory to raise awareness of the need to take measures that guarantee the survival of this activity in the face of the current profitability crisis.

The need to control imports from third countries, the strengthening of border controls to ensure compliance with trade agreements, or the compliance with tariffs, quotas and entry prices are some of the sector's main reasons to protest in recent years. In fact, they also motivated the massive protest of producers and companies held last November.

The exhaustion of the current model and the need to cope with the increase in costs, requirements and greater external competition require the attention of the various Administrations.
