The current scenario and a look to the future

Vignali Trasporti, a group in constant expansion

It is well known that the logistics sector grows unabated, especially when it comes to refrigerated transport, where activities - now more than ever - are scheduled 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

Fabio Vignali, legal representative of one of the major national providers in the refrigerated sector, traced an analysis of the annual business year, which has just ended and is entering the newly started one.

Vignali Group's headquarter

"In 2019 we completed two very important transactions for our Group - began Vignali - At the end of May, we completed the purchase of a property in Saint Charles International in Perpignan, France (see FreshPlaza of 10/18/2019). At the time of purchase, the plant did not have the right specifications to meet our needs but, thanks to the experience gained over the years, we were able to equip it and install high-quality technological machinery, upgrading it into a remarkable refrigerated platform".

The Vignali Group is impressed by the customers' immediate response for requesting services, and this encourages us in fulfilling the financial commitments undertaken for the purchase and upgrading of the plant.

"At the same time, we consolidated our partnership in 2017 with another operator of primary importance at a national scale, giving new life to two plants located within the CAAB Bologna, which stood idle for over two years. This operation is more complicated and requires a little more patience to obtain better results, but we are sure that it will allow the founding companies to optimize workflows, with significant cost savings".

"We are sure that there will be many benefits that both these transactions will provide to our business, - continued Fabio Vignali - however this doesn't mean for us to drop our guard, on the contrary, we must always keep up to date to capture the needs of a sector that is constantly evolving".

The following are the steps that Vignali will take in the short term:

  1. Refurbishment and modernization of the warehouse of Settecrociari di Cesena. The group is particularly fond of this warehouse, because it is where the activity started in 2006;
  2. expansion of the operational areas of Bertinoro (Forlì-Cesena) with an increase of 3.000 square meters of covered areas;
  3. ignition of a WMS / TMS program, which will manage all the activities of all the companies belonging to the Vignali Group.

As a further confirmation of the operating status, the Vignali Group has also allocated a budget for 2020 to attend the three major fairs in the fruit and vegetable sector, such as Fruit Logistica in Berlin, Macfrut in Rimini and Fruit Attraction in Madrid.
