Six months ago, Helmer B.V. celebrated its 50th anniversary. This company is based in Breda, the Netherlands. For more than 20 years, the daily management of this storage and transshipment company has been in capable hands - those of Lizette Helmer. Recently, Helmer B.V.'s refrigeration and office space were completely renovated. That also ensured the company's readiness for the future.
"We have no shortage of cooling space," starts Lizette Helmer. "Here in Breda, we have 20 cooling cells at our disposal. In them, we can store products at between -1 and 15°C. We also have two large warehouses that can hold another 1,500 pallets."
"Our site at the IABC terrain is extremely favorable. It is a cross-dock location. So, we store a lot of overseas goods. These come from the ports of Rotterdam, Vlissingen, and Antwerp. They are on their way inland. But we also store many products from Southern Europe. These are then shipped to, for instance, Scandinavia or Eastern Europe", says Lizette.
The company has access to a total refrigeration area of 10,000 m². Helmer B.V. is BRC, Skal, and HACCP certified. They are also a recognized customs site. To top all this off, they also have several office units available.
"We work with a small team. This makes for short client lines. Clients are always amazed that we can keep things going with so few people. We have two ladies working in our office and three men in the warehouse. These clients are, however, very satisfied with our service. The people here do not have a 9 to 5 mentality either. Clients, therefore, never have to wait long for their goods," concludes Lizette.
