Exporter Guide Thailand – USDA

Thailand in search of western horticultural products

Thailand (population of 69.6 million) is the third largest economy in Southwest Asia and a major exporter of pineapple and cassava, among other things. The economy is expected to grow further by 3.7% in 2020. Trade agreements with the European Union facilitate exports to Thailand.

There are 38 million people with a good income and a growing young generation who are open to other, more healthy eating habits. They are looking for new western horticultural products. Retail is growing accordingly, so there are plenty of opportunities for exporting horticultural products to Thailand.

The Exporter Guide of the USDA offers a lot of information about the economy of Thailand and the trade regulations in this country.
