Black Iron wax apples originate in Pingtung County in Taiwan. This is a wax apple variety that is based on the Black Pearl wax apple, which was cultivated and improved to create the Black Iron wax apple. The new variety was introduced to Hainan around the year 2000, which means the Black Iron wax apple now has nearly 20 years of plantation history in Hainan.
The Black Iron wax apple does very well in the natural environment of Hainan and quickly became one of the most widely planted wax apple variety on the island. There are Black Iron wax apple production areas in Qionghai, Wanning, Sanya, Ledong, Haikou, Ding'an, Lin'gao, and Chengmai, in Hainan. The wax apple variety is quite popular in the market and as a result the overall surface area devoted to the plantation of Black Iron wax apples in Hainan continues to grow every year.

"This season our Black Iron wax apples already entered the market in November, 2019. The harvest season was delayed by an entire month because of irregular weather conditions. Furthermore, the production volume declined by 30% in comparison with last year. However, the product quality of our wax apples is excellent. The product quality greatly benefits from the unique weather conditions, natural environment, and soil quality in Hainan. The flavor of Hainan wax apples is quite good and the production volume is generally big." This is according to Mr. Chang Zhongjie, a fruit grower and trader from Hainan.

The wax apples we sell come in a great variety, but only the Black Iron wax apple is suitable for e-commerce and high-end market sales. The retail conditions for the Black Iron wax apple variety are different because this product variety tastes better than other wax apples. Only the Black Iron wax apple can meet the high standard of high-end markets. We currently offer the wax apples in gift boxes of 1.5 kg and 2.5 kg, because Chinese Spring Festival [25 January, 2020] is coming soon.
