Vergro invests in new premises in Sint-Katelijne-Waver

Recently, fruit and vegetable company Vergro from Meulebeke invested heavily in the expansion of the branch in Sint-Truiden, The Netherlands. The company is also planning a major project for the coming year; a new building in Sint-Katelijne-Waver. "We expect to start construction in the spring and we hope to be ready for the 2021 season," says Dominiek Noppe owner of Vergro. “In total, the new building will consist of 8,000 m2 of cooled space and new offices. The site is located next to BelOrta auction."

The Vergro building in Meulebeke

“Our branch in Meulebeke is gradually becoming too small and the plan is to do part of the logistics through the new branch in Sint-Katelijne-Waver. Our daughter company DVL will also move into the new building. They are currently renting a location at the BelOrta auction site. From 2021, together with DVL, we will be present in the logistical heart of Belgian vegetable growing. Which would mean, added value and cost savings for both our growers and our customers." Dominiek concludes.
