The EU reconsiders the extension of tariffs on canned citrus from China

The European Commission has decided to reconsider the extension of tariff measures on canned citrus fruits from China.

The Regional Minister of Agriculture of the Valencian Community, Mireia Molla, expressed her satisfaction at this decision. In a visit to Agriconsa, a cooperative that is controlled by Anecoop and the Consell and that is dedicated to the processing of oranges and tangerines, she said she considered this was essential for the interests of the Valencian Community. The reconsideration leaves without effect the withdrawal of tariffs, which was scheduled for December 12.

The Commission will announce, within the estimated period of 12 to 15 months, whether or not they will maintain the tariffs.
