During the first 3 quarters of 2019, Asian buyers have received the majority of Ukrainian agro-food exports, as announced by Deputy Minister of Economy Inna Metelev.
She said that Asia accounted for 42% of Ukrainian agro-food exports. At the same time, one third of the shipments ended up in Europe and another 15% in Africa.
As for individual countries buying Ukrainian agricultural products, the leader is China, where Ukraine shipped $ 1,363 million worth of agricultural products during the first 3 quarters of this year.
Egypt took second place among the largest buyers of Ukrainian agricultural products, with $ 1,187 million worth of purchases.
The third place was for the Netherlands, with $ 1,124 million, and India stood fourth with a practically identical figure ($ 1,113 million).
The top five of countries that imported more than $ 1 billion worth of Ukrainian agricultural products is completed with Turkey ($ 1,051 million).
Other noteworthy buyers were Spain ($ 810 million) and Germany ($ 612 million). As regards Ukrainian exports to EU countries, 70% was shipped to 6 countries. In addition to the Netherlands, Spain and Germany, the list also includes Poland, Italy and France.
