Best of Four and Van Nature are now Oxin Growers

New name is a fusion of two Dutch growers co-ops

Earlier this week, Dutch growers cooperatives, Best of Four and Van Nature, presented the name and logo of their new cooperative to its members. The festive unveiling was done at their first joint Annual General Meeting. Members gathered in Kamerik, the Netherlands.

From 1 January 2020, Oxin Growers will be one of the largest Dutch growers associations. This cooperative has a strong organization and a solid position within the sector. Oxin Growers, therefore, offers ample room for growth.

Oxin Growers means growth
The new stands for growth. Literally, since Oxin is derived from the word, ‘auxin’. Auxin is a plant hormone that encourages root growth. It also directs growth direction and stimulates the growth of fruit. This substance is a kind of master controller. Just like Oxin Growers.

"It is a name we think fits very well with our growers cooperative," says Jan Oosterom. He is the new organization's chairperson. "After all, our members work on growing fruit and vegetables every day. The association works on the growth of the cooperative as a whole."

Characteristic of the new logo is the letter, O. This image was designed using representations of the more than 30 products Oxin Growers has in its assortment. The 'O' also symbolizes the cooperative that is Oxin Growers - a circle linking individual farmers.

Both cooperatives' members agreed to the merger on 11 September 2019. Since then, the organization has proven its decisiveness and flexibility. Jan Oosterom continues, saying, “From that moment on, we worked hard to make this merger a success."

"From the Board of Directors to management and various working groups - consisting of colleagues from both cooperatives. My compliments to everyone who contributed to completely finalizing this merger before 1 January."

A toast at Fruit Logistica
The new name and logo will be put in the spotlight next year. This will be at Fruit Logistica, to be held from 5 to 7 February 2020 in Berlin, Germany. "We would like our national and international business partners to bear witness to our new start."

"Our stand at the Fruit Logistica trade show has, therefore, been newly designed. Our business partners will receive invitations in January. They are welcome to come and toast our achievement on Wednesday, 5 February," concludes Oosterom.
