A delegation of Peruvian agricultural exporters from different regions of the country traveled to Europe to participate in the Innovation Mission in Andalusia, together with representatives of the Commercial Office of Peru in Spain and the Association of Peruvian Farmers Guild (Agap), with the aim of learning about the modernization of Spanish agricultural areas, such as Almería.
As part of their mission, the delegation visited the Port of Algeciras and its main facilities for cold logistics, including the Border Inspection Post, APMT Algeciras, and Agromerchants.
Since 2001 Peru has multiplied by 10 its fruit and vegetable exports, reaching more than a hundred countries. "The Port of Algeciras is very important for us because it is the gateway to Europe," the executive director of Agap, Gabriel Amaro, stated.
Afterward, the delegation attended a technical conference which included a presentation by Estefania Roncero, the provincial director of Commerce and Icex, who spoke in detail about the controls and documentation needed to export fruit and vegetable products to Europe.
