According to data provided by the Agrodata Peru website, between January and October 2019, Peru exported 8,555,744 kilos of strawberries for an FOB value of US $15,699,186. These figures reveal a significant increase of more than 50% from the 5,599,351 kilos shipped abroad for $10,051,257 in the same period of 2018.
During the first ten months of the year, the main destination for the Peruvian strawberries was the United States with placements for $ 6,545,256 (42% of total exports). It was followed by Canada with 4,288,845 dollars, South Korea with 1,419,792 dollars, Japan with 1,320,133 dollars, Mexico with 1,019,920 dollars, and Brazil with 393,393 dollars, among other destinations with smaller amounts.
The main exporting companies were Mebol SAC with sales for $6,824,097 dollars, Frozen Foods SAC with $3,217,077, Del Ande Alimentos SAC with $2,664,197, Mebol GF SAC with $825,084, Agrícola y Ganadera Chavín de Huantar SA with $466,243, and Agrícola Cuyuma SA with $456,904, among others.
