The Ningxia Forest Industry and Grassland Office has announced that Goji berries from Ningxia were on display during the 2019 Swedish Natural Organic Food Exposition in Malmo. This is the first time that Goji berries from Ningxia have appeared in northern Europe.
The Swedish exposition is the largest, most prestigious, and most diverse natural food exposition with the largest trade volume in northern Europe. The exposition is held in Sweden every year. More than 200 Chinese suppliers participated in the exposition this year. Many visitors were drawn to the display of dried Goji berries, jam, paste, stock, powder, tea, and fresh Goji berries.
The Goji berry is an excellent, nutritious product that helps to maintain health. Consumers in China and abroad have become increasingly aware of the benefits of Goji berries. Data from the customs office in Yinchuan, the capital of Ningxia, shows that Ningxia exported Goji berries in the period from January until October with a total value of 174.77 million yuan [24.83 million USD]. That is an increase of 13.88% in comparison with the same period in the previous year. The overall export volume was 3,059 tons, which is an increase of 12.11% in comparison with the same period in the previous year.
