At the Expose in Karlsruhe, Polytrade presents the Mustang Paper Tray, a shell made of FSC-certified solid board for sealing via tray sealers. As an alternative to plastic trays, the Mustang Paper Tray can be processed on ULMA tray sealers using the standard formats for strawberries and raspberries, blackberries or blueberries. So using the same tool, goods can be packed either in plastic trays or in cardboard trays.

The shell is a development of the Mustang start-up, from Padua. The Mustang team has over 30 years of experience in the packaging industry. It is now responding to market demands for more ecological packaging options for berries and other products, along with the trend towards sealed trays. "Mustang Paper Trays are 100% recyclable by simply separating the cardboard tray and the sealing film. They also meet all the requirements of the fruit supply chain, such as moisture and cold room resistance and food contact suitability, and have a fully printable outer surface making the trays ideal for a marketing-oriented appearance," says Rainer Dony, Polytrade Managing Director.
