Researchers publishing a manual for kiwiberry growers

Kiwiberries are no longer a mystery to fruit growers. Particularly as a result of work at Ghent University (faculty of bio-engineering sciences) and the Warsaw University of Life Sciences (SGGW) in Poland, a lot of research results and practical experiences have become available.

"The assembly of the international kiwiberry working group that meets annually, results in a great deal of information exchange on the cultivation aspects; harvesting, but also preservation and marketing. Furthermore, the kiwiberry is increasingly becoming a point of interest in scientific publications and research institutions from countries where kiwiberry is an indigenous plant (China, Korea, Japan, etc.)," said the authors.

This information is now bundled in a unique English language book, where the practical application of all this knowledge is the core: "Kiwiberry Grower's Manual". It is a publication of the "Polish Dendrology Soviety", with authors Filip Debersaques (Ghent University and chair of the International Kiwibes Working Group), Piotr Latocha (Warsaw University of Life Sciences - SGWW Poland) and Jonas Decorte (BMS Micro-Nutrients and UGent).

The book is available through the Pomological Association East Flanders, which manages the UGent kiwiberry testing ground.
