AgroGate is designed to act as Africa’s Gate to the fresh produce, and is held in Egypt. It is an annual B2B event which will bring together the Egyptian producers and the related service providers in one place with international buyers to enable/create new business opportunities and be exposed to the global trade’s new regulations and challenges
The first edition took place at the Royal Kempinski Hotel in Cairo on the 5th and 6th of November 2019 where 45 Fresh Produce Importers attended the event among 25 Egyptian Exporters and Growers of Fresh Produce.
ExpoLink are the organizing party for the event along with other co-organizing parties such as the Agriculture Export Council, The Export Development Authority and the Rejoice Pro for Consulting Services.
The event’s main objectives were Capitalizing on the Egyptian governmental strategy, to maintain Egypt’s position as a leading sourcing destination for the sector and achieve the following:
- Increase the Egyptian exports of the Agro-sector
- Penetrate new markets with new products
- Enhance and increase the existing products exports
- Find new clients and partners within the markets
Different types of buyers including retail chain distributors had come from different countries in Africa starting the Kenya, Uganda, Mauritius, Maldives, South Africa and Seychelles
Where other buyers who were lower in number have joined from China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, India, Bangladesh, Sri-Lanka, Pakistan and the UAE
The dates for next year’s event have not yet been released.
