"Grape market in China fluctuating significantly"

The current grape season kicked off in June and has been running for a few months. Several varieties are currently in their peak marketing period. Mr. Ying Guowen of Junhong Fruit and Vegetable Trade Agency Cooperative, Ltd. is currently harvesting his Red Globes in Liangshan, Sichuan.

"We are still busy harvesting our Red Globes. Our Summer Blacks and Sunny Roses became available in June, and our Red Globes came onto the market in August. Crimson Seedless became available in October. With the supply of different varieties, we are able to supply through to the end of December."

“Prices have been fluctuating greatly. After a slight increase last month, prices have once again dropped slightly this month. With more players joining the industry, this year’s market competition is also very fierce and the increase in production has put the market price under pressure. Current prices are between 5 and 7 yuan per half a kilo.”

“Our production area is about 100,000 mu. We have increased our production area this year, so our production has increased accordingly. The overall quality is not as good as last year, mainly because the cold weather has somewhat delayed the ripening of our grapes, which has affected our quality, but it is still good enough for the market."
