2019/20 Chile season has begun

“The first batch of Chilean cherries arrives in Shanghai”

On October 18th, the first batch of the Chilean company Garces Fruit entered the Shanghai Huizhan wholesale market. With their export brand ‘San Francisco Lo Garces cherries', they officially opened the new season of the 2019/20120 Chilean cherries. The company to receive the first batch was the Shanghai Ivcsun Supply Chain Management Co.,Ltd.. Nina, the operations manager of Ivcsun mentioned: “This first shipment is limited to 141 boxes, which were sold out very quickly after opening the container.”

“The overall quality of the first batch of cherries is very good. Especially the taste is good. In addition, the hardness of the fruit is good and the sugar content is around 14-15. The only thing is that the color of the early varieties is not that satisfactory right now. A part of the cherry is dark red, but also a part is still white. Compared with previous years, this year, the first batch of Chilean cherries has arrived earlier. This is mainly due to the early celebration of the Chinese New Year this year  - the sales period of the cherries was shortened and therefore they began earlier. This first variety that arrived was the old Brooks variety, which is one of the early Chilean cherry varieties."

Garces Fruit's cherries are being unloaded

Graces Fruit's first Chilean cherries to China were freshly picked and arrived at the Chinese market after 72 hours by air. During the whole transport the cold chain was used to ensure the best quality and freshness on arrival. The sizes of this first batch were mainly SJ (JJ) and J. More Garces Fruit cherries have been made ready to transport to China in the coming weeks.
