The Valencian company Sanicitrus SL has presented its Eco/Bio product range for the post-harvest treatments of bananas and plantains, in addition to its well-known range of natural-product-based formulated treatments that have no chemical residues, which are known in the sector as zero-residue.
The treatment line for bananas and plantains comprises two conventional products along with two Eco/Bio products. In addition, the company also has conventional and Bio products for washing.
Sanifruit's products for plantains and bananas are a necessary alternative at a time when legislation has lowered the number of applicable doses and banned some of the products that had been used in the sector so far.
Sani DPL Bio is a product for use in drenchers, via cascade, which has been certified for Eco/Bio products by Ecocert.
This product, together with the Sani DPL for conventional treatment, comes to cover a gap in the market for the treatment of bananas and plantains; a sector that seeks to treat its fruits without leaving any residues in them and without polluting the environment. Sanifruit products allow producers to conduct an effective and efficient corona rot treatment without contaminating aquifers, an aspect of great concern to all, especially in places where water is a scarce commodity.
Ecocert also certified that Sani CR Bio can be applied via the immersion of the crowns alone. This means it can be used as a reinforcing treatment on the Sani DPL Bio, or as a single treatment; depending on the needs and post-harvest practices of each package.
Sanicitrus SL has been working on the development of its products for bananas and plantains for more than four years. It has conducted different tests both in laboratory and plant facilities, validating the effectiveness of their products.
The Sanifruit range products are formulated with natural raw materials, food additives, and technological adjuvants that leave no chemical synthesis residues in the fruit, and that doesn't need to be treated when discharged to the water sewage system. Which allows producers to save money and help care for the environment.
