"Oguzeli pomegranates" are one of the most important agricultural products of Gaziantep.

Gaziantep Trade Chamber's chairman Mehmet Akinci issued a statement and announced that "Oguzeli pomegranates" have been awarded Geographical Indication by the Turkish Patent Institute. Akinci said that this is Gaziantep's 25th product to be awarded GI status.

Producers grow pomegranates in Oguzeli's central and rural parts, said Akinci and he emphasized that they are of high quality and very tasty.
