Another 1.5 million Euro allocated by Bulgarian government to organic sector

An additional BGN 3 million (about 1.53 million Euro) is being paid out by the State Fund for Agriculture under the Tied Aid Scheme for Fruit and Vegetables for the 2018 Campaign.

The funds are distributed in five directions between fruit growers and horticultural producers growing their produce in an organic way.

A total of BGN 1,211,943 (619.850 Euro) is being paid under the Tied Aid Scheme for Fruit. Producers are also receiving BGN 861,948 (440,842 Euro) under the Tied Aid Scheme for Vegetables, and BGN 369,740 (189,108 Euro) is being paid out under the Tied Aid Scheme for Greenhouse Vegetables.

The payment has been made after additional checks were carried out on those producers who have an organic production certificate or who have declared to have areas in transition to organic farming.

SFAs report that fruit growers and horticultural producers who have received subsidies have proven to have obtained at least 50% of the minimum yields.
