The Murcia-based lemon producer and marketer Hijos de Alberto del Cerro has inaugurated its facilities for the handling and packaging of organic products.
"It has been a tough project due to the limitations we have faced, but it has finally become a reality and we will soon be able to meet the growing demand for organic lemons from our customers," explains Enrique Fuentes, Head of New Developments at Hijos de Alberto del Cerro.
We are talking about an annexed warehouse which is expanding the packaging facilities to 9,000 m2. "This will allow us to offer our customers organic lemon without post-harvest treatments, and conventional lemon under the most cutting-edge technology available in the market," he says.
"We have made a very efficient use of space to make it as productive as possible, so we can pack in bulk, girsac, mesh and flowpack. During the campaign, we will have the capacity to deliver about 100 tons of organic lemon a day, as we have state-of-the-art calibration machinery from Sunkist, one of the best in the market."
