Today was the last day of Asia Fresh Expo, and attendance was smaller than for the two days before. In the afternoon most of the companies had cleared their booths. All the fruits had been sold and companies left to go back to their own cities in China. During this exhibition, there was a very clear focus on Chinese national fruit and vegetable brands. As was stated during the opening ceremony, China is working on creating its own national premium brands. This exhibition was a good opportunity for companies to make their brands better known to visitors.

One such company was Zhengzhou Chen’s Sun, who presented all their different fruits at the exhibition. Their head office is located in Zhengzhou and they sell imported as domestic premium fruits. Apart from fresh fruits, they are also specialised in selling dried fruits. They were present with a large team and had many visitors to their stand.

Another company presented their Malaysian durian under the brand name ‘Dafei’ (大飞) to the Chinese visitors. They sell their Dafei durian all over China and have their own sales managers in more than 100 cities in China. At the exhibition it was clear they had a good strategy to expand their brand awareness; their packaging and clothes all matching with the same brand name. Furthermore, on every product there is a small introduction on how and when to eat the durian, to get the best experience.

Besides fruit, equipment and packaging companies were also present. One of these companies was Lvyuan Packaging, based in Shenzhen they produce packaging for companies all over the world. Besides PET certified packaging for fruits and vegetables, they also produce packaging for other industries.
