Watermelons gradually begin to enter the Chinese market as summer approaches. The price of Chinese watermelons is higher than last year. Retail conditions are also smooth. The price was relatively low last year, so many farmers therefore reduced the overall surface area devoted to watermelon plantation. The overall supply decreased and the price went up.
People in the industry explained that the main reasons for the high watermelon price include limited supply volume and reduced production as a result of poor weather conditions. Branded watermelons sell well and the overall price is stable.
