Fino' fennel harvest started in Italy

The Romagna fennel harvest has just started at Caligari&Babbi, the company known for its Fino' brand.

Marco Babbi: "We are very satisfied with the start of the campaign, which, despite the rain, is continuing regularly. Fennel is an article that does not suffer from rain and whose quality is very good. The product is fragrant and of good calibre. The demand is sustained also thanks to the unusually cool temperatures".

Prices are equally satisfactory and Babbi hopes that the campaign will continue regularly. Until June 20, Romagna will be harvested, and then the Fucino.

The company exports abroad and supplies Italian large-scale distribution chains. These days, wholesale prices are profitable. Over 2 million plants have been planted and the continuity of supply is guaranteed. In detail, the export of the company is currently 50% of the total.

Vittorio Caligari and Marco Babbi

Vittorio Caligari: "As a specialized company, we have developed a cultivation technique suitable for this area. Thanks to my experience gained in all areas of Italy, we have managed, in a few years, to optimize production. Today, even farmers follow us and our rules in order to obtain uniformity and quality.
