The Périgord strawberry is coming!

A true institution for the department, which has been cultivating the excellence of this spring fruit for generations, the Strawberry of the Périgord has arrived on the shelves.

With 75,000 tonnes per year, the Dordogne remains the second largest national producer after the Lot-et-Garonne. The 200 local producers have benefited for 15 years from a Protected Geographical Indication for Périgord and are now working on the length of the production season, as well as the criteria of quality, taste and variety to resist ever-increasing international competition.
