The main reason for this development is the dwindling supply of last season's goji berries from warehouses. The new harvest has not yet entered the market. "The price fluctuations in the Chinese goji berry market are relatively high in comparison with other agricultural products. This is mainly a result of the relationship between supply and demand. We have a new price report every single week. Based on our own experience we estimate that the current market conditions, with the price of goji berries in a high position, will continue until around August. At that time, the new harvest of goji berries has been processed for one month and the dried goji berries enter the market in bulk."

"Ningxia Baishi Hengxing Food was established in June, 2011. Our company is specialized in foodstuffs and integrates plantation, purchase, production and processing, and retail. We mainly sell our food products in the markets, supermarkets, and to pharmaceutical companies in the bigger cities in China. But we also export to the USA, the EU, Japan, the ASEAN, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. We have several hundred hectares of organic goji berry plantations in Zhongning, Ningxia, as well as processing factories. At the same time, we also purchase goji berries from local farmers in that area. Goji berries are difficult to keep fresh. When we export to overseas markets we mainly supply 5 kg bags and 20 kg boxes of goji berries. We can also supply smaller bags on customer request. These smaller bags are more convenient for consumers in the retail market."
