Massimiliano Castagna from Cold Energy

The fruit sector is focused on energy saving and ecology

Operators from the fruit sector continue to require ecological plants with a low energy consumption, so demand for natural refrigerating fluids is increasing.

"This is what the sector is requiring," explains Massimiliano Castagna (in the photo), sales manager of Cold Energy, a company working in the banana ripening and fruit storage sector both in Italy and abroad.

"We have always focused on energy saving and environment-friendly concepts. We have been working on new projects and, in particular, on a collaboration with Chilean company Oxyion, which has developed a technology for the containment of bacterial load and mold in the refrigerated units so as to improve shelf-life."

The Chilean company supplied a similar certified state-of-the-art technology (Oxyion ®) that improves food safety during the processing, storage and transport of perishable products using air as a means to make contaminating agents inactive.

"Oxyion does not use ozone or chemical products and does not leave residues. We believe the company is a good partner as it guarantees the safety of people and products. We are already testing the technology on bananas, table grapes and cherries and results are more than positive."

The cooperation with Oxyion will be officially presented within the Cold Energy space at Macfrut 2019 (Rimini, 8th-10th May), Hall D5-Stand 9.

"It is the first time we are taking part in Macfrut, as we want to meet our clients and illustrate our new products. Let us not forget that Macfruit is also an interesting occasion to find new foreign clients, mainly from North African and Eastern European countries."

"We are always trying to push our limits and we have a lot of expectations from the fair and for our future."
