Ice cream made from overripe bananas

The ice cream store, Banana, was founded in 2017 by Christian Cordius-Hansen and Jacques Nørbo in Copenhagen, Denmark. While on holiday in Hawaii, they got the idea to make ice cream from bananas, water, lemon juice, vanilla, and dates. This ice cream has no sugar or dairy. The overripe bananas they use for this come from 25 of the supermarket chain, Irma's, stores.

“This ice cream is organic, sustainable, and vegan. It is also made from fruit that would have been discarded. It is the first kind of ice cream that is not bad for your health. In contrast, it can even contribute to better health," says Jacques Nørbo.
