China: Price of mangosteen begins to fall

The price of mangosteen in the Chinese market recently showed a downward trend. Jiaxing Market reports prices of 190-225 yuan [28.29-33.50 USD] per box (9 kg). This price is much lower than last week, and mangosteen have not even reached their optimum flavor. Over time the flavor of the mangosteen will improve but, even so, the price is not likely to increase again, according to wholesale traders, because the supply volume is growing as well.
