Turkey: Fresh produce exporters look to hit 1 billion USD target

The Aegean Fresh Fruits and Vegetables Exporters' Association earned a total of 831 million USD (739,1 million Euro) in 2018. The target set for 2019 is 1 billion 50 million USD (933,4 million Euro).

According to the association's written statement, a new "members relations team" was launched in October 2018 to serve the members. In the Aegean region, members come from Izmir, Manisa, Aydin, Usak and Afyon.

Hayrettin Ucak, head of the association said: "Our member relations team gives consultancy service to our members in order to build effective communication channels with the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, Ministry of Trade and other institutions. This is important in terms of state subsidies and agricultural surplus. In the coming period, our consultants will also visit our members in Denizli, Mugla and Balikesir."

Aegean Fresh Fruits and Vegetables Exporters' Association prepares sector reports on a monthly basis and the members team organizes regular meetings in the areas of production.

The association visited 253 exporters in Izmir, Manisa, Aydin, Usak and Afyon since October 2018.
