Cesil Import and Export from Barendrecht has its first Royal Gala apples from South America on the way. "These Chilean apples are of great quality. The ship just left and we expect the first arrival in the Netherlands at the start of April," says Silvia Piezzi.
Although there is more supply on the European market than last year, Silvia expects good demand for the new imported apples.
"Royal Galas speak to the imagination of the customers," says Silvia, who works at the office at the Barendrecht trade centre, after having lived in Argentina for a number of years.
