A report from the Chilean Fruit Export Association (ASOEX) states that Chile was China's largest fresh fruit supplier for the second year in a row. The volume of Chilean fresh fruit exported to China exceeded that of Thailand, the Philippines, Vietnam, New Zealand, Australia, the USA, South Africa, and Peru.
The president of ASOEX further stated that "Chile exported 385 thousand tons of fresh fruit to China in 2017-2018 season, which was an increase of 66% in comparison with the previous season. The main export fruit is still the cherry, which accounts for 41.4% of the fresh fruit export volume. Table grapes come second with 30.8%, while plums (10.7%), nectarines (4.3%), kiwi fruit (4.2%), avocados (3.2%), apples (2.9%), and blueberries (2.5%) follow."
