DART plans to add two new loading docks for trucks to the existing warehouse to handle growing traffic and to improve the quality and efficiency of the service. Traffic in fruit has been recording continuous growth in the port, reaching 140,000 tons in 2018, up 11.5% on the previous year.
According to portseurope.com¸ currently, the fruit terminal has refrigerated storage capacity for 5,000 pallets, six loading docks (to be increased to eight), eight cold rooms, 1,000 air-conditioned m2 for sorting and distribution, reefer connections, 5,000 m² of contiguous esplanade and 520 metres for docking, in two docks.
