Nijs van Zuilen, Berrybrothers:

"Demand for Dutch redcurrants has grown a lot "

"The demand for Dutch redcurrants has increased significantly over the last few weeks. This means the availability of this product has rapidly decreased. We expect to be able to provide this Dutch product to our clients until about the end of March," says Nijs van Zuilen of the Dutch wholesaler, Berrybrothers.

"We supply redcurrants year round. Because of this, we will switch to the Chinese Junifer variety. This will be followed by the Rovada", he continues. "Our new Dutch heated greenhouse season will start with the early Junifer variety in mid-May again.  Around this time, after the redcurrants, we will also open the Dutch season. We will harvest glass greenhouse raspberries and blackberries."
