Hensing GmbH uses vending machines for attractive marketing at POS

"With the Regio-Box, we offer a new Touchpoint"

Today's customer wants availability around the clock. With the Hensing Regio-Box, this is also possible for local fruits and vegetables. Managing director Dirk Hensing explains the idea in an interview with the specialist magazine Lebensmittel Praxis.

How did the idea for the new Regio-Box come about?
Dirk Hensing: Food suppliers face major challenges, such as responding to changes in consumers' buying habits. Consumers shop around the clock today and order groceries online. 'Regionality' is increasingly becoming a purchase criterion - both in stationary retail and online orders. With the Regio-Box we offer a new Touchpoint. Food retailers can now generate additional sales around the clock, and consumers benefit from the availability of fresh food regardless of shop opening hours. Hensing has been selling vending machines since 2010.

What advantages do you see in the Regio-Box?
The Hensing Regio-Box is a vending machine that markets regional products 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The machine gives retailers additional sales opportunities for fresh produce such as fruits and vegetables, as well as eggs or dairy products. Moreover, paying electronically or by credit card makes the experience more pleasant for the customer.
