Spain is by far the largest exporter of oranges. Its share of global exports in 2017 was around 25%, which totaled 4.5 billion euros. South Africa and the US follow in second and third place, according to a report of the International Trade Center (ITC).
The orange belongs to the genus of citrus plants and is today the most commonly grown citrus fruit in the world. The largest sales market for oranges is Brazil, followed by China and India.
