Rahim and Serdar Deniz, Deniz Fruit:

"Our Cash & Carry and export branch are both on an upward trend"

They have branches in Rotterdam and Brussels, as well as a farm in Turkey. Over the past 38 years, Deniz Fruit has built a reputation in the international fruit and vegetable trade sector.

This company is based in Rotterdam. Director and founder, Rahim Deniz, heads up this family business. His son, Serdar, is the Sales and Purchasing Manager. Last week, for the first time, Deniz Fruit had a stand at Fruit Logistica.

"Our Turkish trade connections are strong. However, it also involves Dutch, Spanish, Italian, French, Belgian, Greek, and Moroccan products", says Rahim.

"We have plantations and a packing station in Turkey. We import Turkish peppers year round. During the season we also get pomegranates, quinces, Sultana grapes, and Santa Maria pears from Turkey."

The company counts supermarkets, wholesalers, and restaurants across Europe as clients. "Daily, we have a 6.000m2 sales area at our disposal. Of this, 4.500 m2 is designated for the Cash & Carry and Export divisions."

"For us, the Cash & Carry department is still an essential part of our business. Many clients leave there with a few pallets in their bus or truck, every day. We also do daily deliveries to businesses in the area", adds Serdar.

Deniz Fruit's export branch is also growing, "We have several important export countries. They are Germany, Belgium, Hungary, Moldovia, and Sweden", continues the Sales and Purchasing Manager.

"Then there is also Denmark, Finland, Romania, and Ukraine. Currently, exports make up 60% of our trade." The company tries to set itself apart with the quality and packaging of its products.

"From October, we also have Turkish snack cucumbers, courgettes, and aubergines. We can deliver these straight from Turkey, or the Netherlands. With us, there are a lot of options", says Serdar.

He was well pleased with Deniz Fruit's participation in Fruit Logistica. "We hope to be here next year as well", he concludes.
