Taiwanese fruit export to Hong Kong increased by 20% in January

Fruit trade is flourishing in the weeks before the Chinese Spring Festival [February 5th, 2019]. The fruit export from Taiwan to Hong Kong increased by 20% in January in comparison with the same period last year. The export volume exceeded 350 tons and included candied jujube, grapes, dragon fruit, Maogu oranges, tomatoes, ponkan tangerines, guava, and star fruit. The export value exceeded 22 million New Taiwan Dollar [710 thousand USD].

The trade relations between Hong Kong and Taiwan were celebrated in a Spring Festival Taiwan Fruit Festival on January 11th, 2019. This event also advanced the sales of candied jujube from Gaoxiong, pearl guava, papaya from Meinong, black pearl wax apple from Pingdong, pineapple from Jinzuan, and Maogu oranges and Kyoho grapes from Dongshi in Taizhong. Taiwanese fruit is popular in the Hong Kong market for its product quality and product variety.
