Today, there are only 30% of the Guangxi bananas remaining. From September to December of the previous year, Yunnan bananas began to be listed in large quantities, and the price was the lowest in years. This year, this rule was broken. Now the price of good bananas in Yunnan is around 4 yuan/kg.
In January-February of 2018 Guangxi bananas had basically ended, though there were still large quantities coming from Honghe and Wenshan in Yunnan. Supplies from Laos and Myanmar were rare and sales boomed after years of low sales, opening a new chapter in the price of bananas.
Affected by the low price in 2017, some growers in Honghe and Wenshan began to adjust the listing time. 30% of bananas were held back to enter the market in March and April of 2018. This year Yunnan bananas ushered in a good market for two consecutive seasons.
This year, the banana of Xishuangbanna, Pu'er, Yuxi, Dehong, and Lincang will enter the market in March and April, while those from the main cargo areas of Honghe and Wenshan will enter the market around the time of the Spring Festival, and now they are listed in large quantities. Currently, the price of bananas in Yunnan still maintains a record high for this time of year.
