Brazilian Rainforest Alliance Certified melons for Staay Food Group

Staay Food Group can now supply melons from Rainforest Alliance Certified farms throughout the entire overseas season. The Dutch melon specialist takes an important step in making their supply more sustainable this way. In addition to the complete harvest from Costa Rica (February - May), the Brazilian melons of Staay’s own brand DULCE are now also available (September - February) under this sustainable label.

One of Staay’s permanent production partners in Brazil, Mata Fresca, had a successful audit earlier this year, and as a result, they can sell the melons with the well-known Rainforest Alliance quality mark. Staay Food Group can now supply the Galia, Cantaloupe, yellow and watermelon varieties (Seedless and quetzali) with the sustainable certification of tropical products.

Rainforest Alliance is the international nonprofit organisation that’s dedicated to conserving biodiversity and the rights and wellbeing of workers, their families and communities. The Rainforest Alliance Certified label compels growers to farm sustainably. This ensures safe working conditions, sustainable living, care for the environment and conservation. It can be found on products including coffee, tea and fruit.
