Spain: 190,000 Euro for Castellon's citrus sector in 2019

The Provincial Council of Castellon will support the provincial citrus sector with an investment of 190,000 Euro in 2019 in order to promote its development and improve its competitiveness in an increasingly globalized and competitive world. This has been announced by the provincial deputy for Rural Development, Pablo Roig, who confirms the commitment of the Provincial Government to boost the sector by collaborating with groups such as Asociex, Fepac-Asaja and La Unió de Llauradors.

"The Provincial Government is betting on the citrus sector, which we perceive as a fundamental part of our economy and identity. We are aware of how much this activity has given the province and we want it to continue creating opportunities and employment in Castellón. We are devoting all our available resources to this end, and our work next year will follow the same line. We will always stand behind a sector that is so important for the province," said Roig.

Next year, the Provincial Council of Castellón will consolidate its collaboration with the Association of Fruit Exporters of the Province of Castellón (Asociex). The plan is to promote the marketing of Castellon's citrus products in both the domestic and the international market. To this end, it will invest 30,000 Euro. It will also give financial support to some of the most representative agrarian groups in the province. Fepac-Asaja Castellón and the Unió de Llauradors i Ramaders de Castellón will each receive a contribution of 80,000 Euro.
