Juan Colombo, the general manager of Subsole, has been named the new president of the Produce Marketing Association (PMA) Council in Chile. The PMA is an association that represents companies from all segments of the global fruit and vegetable supply chain. Colombo, who has already served as vice president of the PMA, will hold the position for three years, replacing Christian Corssen, the current general manager of Compañía Frutera Santa Maria.
Felipe Juillerat, who is currently the CCO of Hortifrut, will be the new vice president.
The objectives proposed by the new board appointed in the recent Chile Country Council Meeting include "to continue to have an active and proactive community that produces knowledge and value to the associates, all of which will translate into growth for the industry," Juan Colombo stated.
An example of this, he said, will be the organization of Fresh Connections, a global event that will be held in Chile on January 16, 2019 and that will bring together the main executives of the horticultural industry, large importers, and representatives of the retail sector from China, United States, Europe, Middle East, India, and Southeast Asia, among others. In addition, the PMA World Board Meeting, which will be held for the first time in history outside of North America, will be held in Chile that same week.
Andres Rodriguez, a representative of the PMA in Chile, thanked Christian Corssen and his board for their hard work and their contribution to the organization and its associates, who were able to grow thanks to the communication of quality content and the connections they were provided to expand their business opportunities.
