Fontane: 25,00 to 27,00€/q; stable market;
Challenger: 25.00 to 27.00€/q; stable market;
Innovator: 27.00 to 28.50 € / q; firm market.
• "frying quality": max 15% floating at 1060g/l and PSE min 335g/5 kg: 18 to 25€/q. Very low offer, very few transactions;
• "failing quality": more than 15% floating point and/or PSE <345g/5kg: 10 to 15€/q. Quiet market (offer greater than or equal to demand). The offer remains urgent (clearing of hangars, last deliveries...). Demand depends on the ability of the buyer to process batches (salt bath and wash). The price remains very dependent on the total tare (floating) and transport costs.

Price summary (source: NEPG):
Bintje plant: Dutch plant, class A, returned March 2019, by 5 tons, bulk, VAT excl. firm prices by speculation. Very little trade.
In the Netherlands the production of seedlings has generally less tuber formation this season ... Consequence? Fewer tubers (and sometimes larger tubers, sometimes gone into processing when the PES were high enough). In any case, there are 5 to 10% of “fry” variety plants in less than a normal year. In precocious and half-precocious varieties the reduction is much more important! This is what Jan Van Hoogen, director of the Agrico plant house, said during last week’s traditional "pootgoeddagen". Plant price increases are expected in main varieties ... These increases will be partly offset by higher contract prices (source: Boeren Business).

Difficult markets for Bintje, firmer but without dynamism in other varieties. The difficulties of conservation are confirmed for Bintje and the range of prices practiced remains very wide. Some manufacturers work Bintje as a priority to save a maximum of volume. Very few transactions for other varieties whose demand seems a little more sustained, related to the end of grubbing. On the fresh produce markets, activity is described as regular, with prices ranging from 25.00€/q in versatile varieties to 40.00€/q in firm flesh. For export, Italy, Spain and Portugal are buyers, as well as Eastern European countries (for example red varieties at 34.00 - 36.00€/q in big-bag departures). Transport to Spain remains limited.

For firm flesh on sale at the farm (Rhineland) prices ranged from 11.00 to 12.00€/q per 25kg bag (unchanged). Prices up to €3.00/q were given for superior quality.

Many people are wondering where potatoes will come from in late winter. Prices should remain fairly stable by the end of the year, after ... we'll see!
